the apetta story
in 2021 my cousin gaetano from troina asked me, if I could paint his new "apetta" for his b&b al centro storico and it was instant "yes, i will".
the process
in 2021 my cousin asked me to paint his ape for his b&b al centro storico in sicily
our idea was to transform this old thing into a "carretto siciliano",
an sicilian horse-drawn cart

nowadays, my cousin and his apetta are really famous in Troina and it became an important symbol for my hometown
many turists will always remember the experience of the "apetta taxi"
since I used car paint for this project, at the beginning it was really difficult to
understand the texture
after many layers and failures, the apetta started to look very different and we started to fell in love
and I was really sad to say goodbye to this work of art!
it has many sicilian symbols like the "teste di moro", the lemons and oranges.
